Halloween Bat Walk & Lantern Trail – Radford Park

Get ready for a spooky evening of Halloween fun at Radford Park! Don your scariest costume, carve your spookiest pumpkin face for a chance to win some exciting prizes!

Follow a pumpkin lantern-lit trail through the park guided by wildlife experts from Plymouth Natural Grid to spot and learn about the park’s resident bats, before returning to the Beckly Centre for Halloween-themed activities, refreshments and prize giving.

Pumpkin Carving and Costume Competition
Bring your carved pumpkin to light up the trail and show off your best homemade Halloween look to scare up a prize! The competition will be judged by local MP Rebecca Smith and Councillor Kathy Watkin, with prizes for the most creative designs.

Refreshments
Free Halloween treats will be available to attendees, with street food and drinks available to
purchase from Spriggy’s Street Food, who will also be operating a pop-up bar from his van at
the Beckly Centre.

Event Details:

  • 4:15pm – Guided Bat Walk to Radford Castle
  • Prizes awarded for the Best Pumpkin Lantern and Best Homemade Costume
  • Refreshments & Street food by Spriggy’s

*The route is uneven but mostly on level or slightly sloping paths which can be managed by most light wheelchairs and pushchairs.
**Dogs welcome on the bat walk but must stay outside the Beckly Centre in the courtyard.
